A card holds ~80 words and a full letter ~200 words, a full page. The editor counts your words as you go and tells you if it runs long. Cards are $8.95 and letters $10.95.

You tell us about the person and the occasion, and our AI drafts a letter from exactly what you shared. You can edit every word before you pay, or skip the AI and write it all yourself. Then a robot holding a real pen writes it out on real card stock.

It’s written with a real ballpoint pen, held by a robot, in the handwriting style you choose. The ink presses into the paper like anyone’s handwriting would. It isn’t printed to look like handwriting.

A one-of-a-kind Custom Cover we design from your description, or, on folded cards, your own photo (as it is, or painted) or your own design. You see it before you pay, and you can design it again if it isn’t right.

Cards are $8.95 and full-page letters are $10.95. That includes the card, the handwriting, the envelope and the US stamp. Send 10 or more in one checkout and each is less: $7.45 a card or $9.45 a letter for 10–24 in one checkout, $6.95 or $8.95 for 25+. Mail to Canada or other countries adds the difference in postage, at cost.

Each card is priced from what it really costs us to make and mail it (the card, the real-pen handwriting, the stamp, the AI and the card payment), plus a fixed margin that keeps us sending. Extra postage abroad and gift cards are passed on at what they cost us, with no markup.

If you don’t pick a date, it’s mailed within about a week. If you pick a date you’d like it to arrive, we work back from it and schedule the mailing, and show you an estimated arrival window. US mail can be a little faster or slower, so it’s always an estimate.

Yes. Never forget a birthday again.: Save your loved ones’ birthdays and special days — we remind you and add them to your phone’s calendar. No subscription, no monthly fees. You only pay when you choose to send something. Your address book, email reminders 14 days (two weeks) before, plus a backup 3 days before and the private calendar link for your iPhone or Google Calendar are free forever.

Up to 5 Custom Covers and 15 letter writes per card, free. Every version stays saved, so you can go back to any earlier cover or letter and pick it. Editing the words yourself is always free and unlimited.

Yes. In your account, open “People I help” and add them. They get their own address book, dates and reminders (the reminders come to you), and their cards are signed from them and can mail from their return address. You pay with your own card. Add their email if you like, and they get a private link to read each card and ask us not to send one. There’s also a larger-text, simpler view in Settings and at the bottom of every page.

No. You can send a letter as a guest. A free account lets you save addresses, see past orders, get reminders before birthdays, and set up letters that go out every year.

You tell us who, which occasion and what the letters should feel like. About 10 days before mailing we write a fresh letter, design a new cover and email you a preview. You can approve, edit or skip it. AutoPilot is opt-in for each person and date. With it on, cards are sent unless you skip. With it off, nothing is sent until you tap “Looks good.” AutoPilot cards: charged when they’re submitted for writing, a few days before they’re mailed, after your heads-up email, unless you skip. You can pause or cancel anytime. Each plan has a short description (up to about 100 words) so each letter sounds like you.

Yes. With an account, “Send to my whole list” lets you pick up to 50 people from your address book, write one description plus an optional line for each person, and we write a different letter for every one. You review them all, then pay once. 10 or more in one checkout get the lower per-letter prices.

On folded cards you can add a gift card from a short list of popular brands. It’s priced at what it costs us, with no markup.

Cards you send yourself are paid at checkout. AutoPilot cards are charged when they’re submitted for writing, a few days before they’re mailed, after your heads-up email, unless you skip. Full refund until your card is submitted for writing. If it arrives damaged or isn’t what you ordered, we’ll reprint it or refund you. See Refunds & cancellations for the details.

Yes, for $1.45. Record up to a minute on your phone or computer before you pay. We add a short P.S. to your letter and print a code on the card, and they scan it with their phone camera to hear or watch it, no app needed. It’s private (only that card’s code plays it), checked to make sure it’s kind, and you can re-record it until the card is mailed. We keep it for at least a year after mailing.

A photo you add for the AI to draw from stays private and is deleted once your letter is mailed (or after 30 days if you don’t order). A photo you choose as the card cover is printed on your card, so it’s kept with that order’s card art.

Yes. Be Thoughtful for Business (/business) sends client thank-yous, home anniversaries, client birthdays, holiday cards and staff thank-yous from your client list, each card written individually and mailed in real handwriting. Cards are $8.95 and letters $10.95, or less when you send more at once: $7.45 a card or $9.45 a letter for 10–24 in one checkout, $6.95 or $8.95 for 25+. There’s no minimum order.

Describe what you want the whole front of the card to look like (the box shows a few examples) and tap Design my custom cover. We design a finished, full-bleed front at the card’s real size. Not quite right? Change your description and tap Design it again; your earlier covers stay in the strip beside the preview, one tap away. Up to 5 Custom Covers and 15 letter writes per card, free. A cover that doesn’t come out never counts. Words appear on the cover only when you ask for them. Prefer your own picture? Use my photo puts it on the front as it is, and Paint my photo turns it into an original design.

Yes, on folded cards. Choose Use my photo (a JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP photo, or your own design as a PNG, JPG or PDF) or Paint my photo. Made your own design? Upload it with Use my photo. Covers print edge to edge and the very edge is trimmed, so keep words and faces a little in from the edges. A small picture still prints, but we’ll warn you if it may look blurry.

They’re used only to make your card. Inspiration photos are deleted once your card is mailed, or after 30 days if you don’t order. Your own cover photo is printed on the card.

Every arrival date is an estimate. Pick As soon as possible, the occasion’s day, or your own date, and we work back to when it should be mailed. USPS usually takes 3 to 7 days, a little longer in the holiday rush. You can change the date or cancel until a few days before it’s mailed.

All optional: a voice or video message they can scan and play, a gift card tucked inside a folded card, and a small “Send one back” line on the back. Each one shows its price before you add it, and the total updates as you go.

Each card includes free rewrites of the letter and a few free Custom Covers. After that, pick from the versions you made, all still free. You can always edit every word yourself for free.
