In the studio, step by step

Choose your card
Pick the occasion, then a folded card, a flat note card or a full letter. The one the occasion usually gets is already picked.
- 2.
Cover design
Describe what you want the front to look like, or tap an idea, and we design a finished, full-bleed cover at the card’s real size. Make changes and design it again; earlier versions stay one tap away. On a folded card you can use your own photo (painted or as-is) or your own design instead.

Write your message
Tell us about them and our AI drafts a letter from exactly what you share, or say it out loud and we turn your voice memo into the letter, or write the whole thing yourself. Edit any word or ask for a rewrite.

Handwriting
Tap a handwriting style and your own message changes into it right away, true to size.

Add-ons
Add a voice or video message they can play, or a gift card, if you like. Each shows its price before you add it.

Who it’s for
Add their name and address, just as it goes on the envelope. We check the address as you type.

When & receipt
Pick when it should arrive (mailed within about a week if you don’t pick a date; arrival is always an estimate), then add your name and the email for your receipt.

See the front and the inside, and every line of the price, before you pay. Then Be Thoughtful writes it with a real ballpoint pen and addresses the envelope, through our established US handwriting fulfillment partner, and it’s stamped and sent by USPS First-Class Mail. The price includes the stamp.
Every year, without remembering
With a free account you can set up AutoPilot cards for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. About 10 days before mailing we write a fresh letter and a new cover and email you a preview to approve, edit or skip. Your saved card is charged only when a letter is actually sent, and you can pause or cancel anytime.
