For business
Handwritten Thanksgiving cards your clients will keep
A handwritten thank-you at Thanksgiving is one of the simplest ways to tell clients they matter, with nothing to sell. Order by Sunday, November 8 for cards to typically arrive before Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26). It’s an estimate worked out from typical mail times with a few days to spare, so earlier is always safer.
Why Thanksgiving beats Christmas for standing out
- A quieter mailbox. In December your card competes with every other business’s holiday card. In November it arrives on its own.
- Gratitude is the whole point. Thanksgiving is about saying thank you, so the message feels natural rather than seasonal.
- No awkward holiday question. A Thanksgiving card works for clients of every faith and none, without wondering which greeting to use.
- It lands before the December rush, when people still have time to read it and pin it to the fridge.
Who sends Thanksgiving cards to clients
Any business built on relationships: realtors, financial advisors, insurance agents, mortgage lenders, dentists and other practices, home services like landscapers and HVAC companies, salons and spas, and property managers. If your clients come back, or send their friends, a thank-you card is worth sending.

How to make each card personal
- Always use the first name. Your client list upload fills it in on every card.
- Mention one real detail where you can: the house, the year you started working together, a child’s name they shared with you.
- Sign it as a person, not a company. “Warmly, Jen” beats “The Team at Jen Smith Realty”.
- Keep it short. Three or four sentences, written by hand, is more than enough.
- Add a separate return address so the envelope comes from your business.

What not to write
A Thanksgiving card works because it asks for nothing. Leave out sales pitches, discount codes and “by the way, I’d love a referral”. Mixing gratitude with an ask makes the whole card feel like marketing. If you want referrals, earn them with the card and ask another time. Skip business cards tucked inside, too.
When to send Thanksgiving cards
Order by Sunday, November 8 for cards to typically arrive before Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26). It’s an estimate worked out from typical mail times with a few days to spare, so earlier is always safer.
Arriving the week before Thanksgiving is ideal: early enough to be read, close enough to feel timely. For ideas on wording beyond business, see our Thanksgiving messages and Thanksgiving cards.
Sending to your whole client list
Upload your client list as a CSV file, start from the Thanksgiving gratitude template, and review every card before you pay. Each one is written with a real pen in the handwriting style you choose and mailed with a real stamp, all in one checkout. Bigger lists get the volume price automatically; see pricing for details.
